John Answers: I am one who dances with the mountains!

JOHN DENVER, SINGING AND DANCING ON SKIS!!

"I am one who dances with the mountains"            -- John Denver

This blog's purpose is to convey just who is John Denver through his songs and actions.

John loved to ski and he was damn good at it.  I had heard the song, Dancing With the Mountains, many times and as uplifting as it is, I ran into this You Tube video that conveys just how excited and high on life John really was; and the video lets John answer that question, Who Is John Denver,  for himself.

I thought it very appropriate to share this during this holiday season when so many of us can feel that opposite of joyous and happy. It's almost like our feelings are increased by the comparison of what they are and what they "should" be during this season.  Feelings just are. They are never right or wrong and what is more, no one can tell you how to feel. Be yourself. John had his moments of ecstatic joy and happiness as well as the times when he was down, distraught, disillusioned. He shared it all with us, and we loved him through it all.

I hope you enjoy the video and come to it often, even outside of winter, for a shot in the arm of over-the-top encouragement from John.  It gave me the tingles as I felt his spirit invade my  life, once again.  As I listened and watched this video (three times+, I must admit!) the wind outside my window began to blow. Leaves, seeds, pine cones were falling and flying everywhere under the blue sky and the bright sun. You see, outside my window to the Sierra Mountains, it is where most of the year it is calm, warm, light breezes. Every so often, usually when I am missing John, I swear his spirit blows through "my little woods" letting me know that his spirit, that he, is with us. I whisper a "Hi John!"  It happens too often to be 'just a coincidence' and if it is, so be it. It still brings his warmth, care and spirit to mind, and THAT, is as contagious as John's smile.

John Denver, "I am one who dances with the mountains, I am one who dances with the wind.  I am one that dances on the ocean..... we are one while thinking of each other....Let your heart and soul sing and dance with him.

October 12, 2017 20th Anniversary

It made me a bit sad that I did not see or could not find many articles in the news or on the internet commemorating John Denver's passing twenty years ago. Perhaps tomorrow......

What I did find with the help of friends, was the there is going to be a new album released December 1, 2017 honoring John's life and music. YAY!! JOHN DENVER: The Windstar Greatest Hits. It will only be found a Cracker Barrel stores.  Race you there.....!?

I also discovered that a song, entitled, The Blizzard has been released and is streaming on Spotify and Itunes and other streaming services. johndenver.com   I am always waiting for a new John Denver song and then, I remember....oh yeah, that is not going to happen. Well, I was wrong, HIS SPIRIT LIVES!!

There also was a very warm stirring story of the memory of hearing and listening to John Denver on the radio while growing up.  It can be found the in Gaston County Gazette of North Carolina or online at http://www.gastongazette.com/news/20171012/john-denver-remembered-on-anniversary-of-death.  We all have these kinds of memories, how we first heard John, how his songs changed our lives, how we included them in special moments of our lives.  Share them, we all need to hear how his song and spirit unify us.

WE carry his Spirit and it is our inheritance to continue and spread what he started. In our works, his Spirit will live on.

I will collect and share stories of this remarkable man's life, his accomplishments, his efforts, his dreams, the source, inspiration and meaning to his songs. I hope that you as well will share what you know of John, how he affected your life and ways to carry on his work, his dreams.

On this day, tell someone about John, share a song, a memory, a picture, share it proudly and
know that we all have been touched by a piece of heaven.
Consider printing and cutting this picture out and wearing it wherever you go today. When you see any kind of nature today, thank John and thank God for this "country boy".
